Development Environment
Job Growth
According to ABAG, Solano County will have the largest percentage growth in jobs, population and households, of any county in the San Francisco Bay Area between now and 2010. Its location between the fast-growing Sacramento area and the northern portion of the Bay Area gives it a strong long-term economic development advantage.
Between 2000 and 2010, Solano County will add almost 42,000 jobs. One third of those jobs will be in the service sector, and 29 percent will be in retail. Vacaville and Fairfield will be the locations where the most jobs in these sectors will be added.
Solano County Commercial Market
While most Bay Area markets have crashed since 2000, Solano County's overall vacancy for industrial and office space is under 5% and rates have actually risen since 2000.
Summary
We are in good shape to weather an uncertain future. Our inventories are tight and our market is, more than ever, a compelling Bay Area alternative.
